A Step Above: Alex Pereszlenyi

Green Valley High School

Class of 2011

Whatever life throws his way, Green Valley High School senior Alex Pereszlenyi is taking it in stride. That’s not to say he doesn’t possess a sharp competitive edge or the work ethic needed to achieve the high goals he sets for himself. Quite the opposite, his easy going demeanor is what propels him to see every challenge as an opportunity to grow; each minor setback as motivation to strive even harder. What’s even more impressive is that all the while he takes time to help others when they need it and plans to parlay that sense of responsibility into a career. For all this and more, Alex Pereszlenyi is – A Step Above.

Alex Looks Up To: “I look up to both my father and mother because they provide me with a solid base for which I can sculpt my own preferences and character.  They are always there for me, and I can always ask them for anything.”

Alex on Peer Pressure: “When some person was getting made fun of, my friends were too scared to do something.  I could not live with the guilt of being passive, so I went and helped the kid out.”

Cause for Concern: “If I could, I would be the president of StandUp for Kids because of its contribution to homeless teens in Las Vegas.  It is a great organization that serves a noble cause.”
